It's been a tradition the women in my family have had for ages. When we finally get engaged, we're given a locket. My daughter doesn't realize it yet, but this will be hers. I LOVE IT! The rose is the flower for those born in June & I couldn't have asked for a nicer one to give her. The lock opens & closes without issue & the plating is done well. It came so well protected & ready to be gifted. I cried when I opened it! It's perfect. It's not so outrageously expensive that she would be terrified to lose it; but the quality is good enough, she can enjoy wearing it for the rest of her life if taken care of. I was thrilled to have found this & would definitely consider getting it again. It will make a great heirloom.
