Somehow harder than the mattress itself - it's litterially just upholstry foam
for a hard mattress it would probably work ok, but for softening up a medium mattress it made it firmer, which is impressive.Will probably use it to line pillows or something, not worth returning.
- It is very durable and it is very comfortable and soft. I would buy this again
- It may not fit properly on all queen-sized mattresses
