Ironically I just read a review from a customer that had the same issue. Unfortunately, I think we both discovered this at the same time.When used on a ULINE slat wall, the bracket sits so low that only 1/8 of an inch of the upper tab actually makes contact with the slat wall. I was afraid that if I applied any weight to the peg it would rip it out of the wall (damaging the slat wall). I fixed it by purchasing a 1/4 inch square dowel rod from the local hardware store for 90 cents. I rounded one corner to fit the bend, I then cut 50 one inch pieces and glued and taped them to the 'bend area' on the back. This only took a few minutes. This lifted the bracket up 1/4 of an inch so that the full upper tab was in contact with the slat board and the downward forces was not compromised as the wood was soled and the forces are mostly push and pull Worked like a charm.My application was for a small garage project, so it was more for function vs beauty.
