The primary criterion was that it be wireless and not require frequent charges; solutions that need charging every two to three days disqualified themselves immediately from consideration. Next, time spent working. When I use the keyboard with the backlight set to a moderate level, the battery dies completely after 10-14 days. Since I do most of my work from home, there are times when I am glued to the screen for hours. The outcome is worthwhile, and I can afford to connect the wire for three hours once or twice a month without finding the process monotonous. As an added bonus for conserving power, the keyboard's lighting will turn off after a configurable amount of inactivity. No worries here, is the reply. I didn't try it out over bluetooth because it's too awesome and lightning-fast for me to give up my current setup. As I was deciding between this and a comparable version with a numpad (which is even cheaper), I realized that I use a numpad once every six months, so I opted for a little one, which is also a benefit in terms of design and convenience.
