I did quite a bit of research before I purchased this system for my house. Since attic access to the areas I wanted to mount cameras was ample, I decided to go with a wired system to reduce the chances of malfunction (batteries, wifi connection). I wanted to be able to access the system from the phone app (VssMobile) at all times, however I found out after, my phone provider (StraightTalk) does not allow streaming of video. This means unless I'm on my own WiFi at my house, I cannot view the system on my phone. I'm still working on being able to view the system on a laptop not on my WiFi which I'm pretty sure is possible through the Vssweb.net website.As far as the TonTon system goes, I could not be happier! The box arrived with everything needed to install. I ran the cables (100' each) in the attic to each area I wanted a camera. Then, I ran the cables down the inside of the wall behind my entertainment center where I placed the DVR box. I made all the connections for the box including the camera cables. I then went to each area I wanted a camera and connected a camera to the other end of the cables. The cameras have an aluminum housing and mount that seem to be good quality. Now, with the DVR powered up and connected to the TV via HDMI cable that is included, someone watched the feed over the TV as I placed each camera and mount at the angle for the proper view. At this point, I found one of the four cameras was only showing in black and white on a bright sunny day. I went ahead and mounted it to get everything else set up. I ended up emailing TonTon tech support about connecting the DVR box to my Internet as well as the malfunctioning camera. In both cases their support over email was great! They made every attempt to help. It turns out the one camera was stuck in IR mode and would not switch out of it. They had me check a couple things and immediately sent me a new replacement camera that worked properly.I'm very satisfied with the image quality as it appears on my TV and on my phone. Both attached pictures are with the cameras in IR mode. The VssMobile app has a few quirks and I have yet to get a response back from their "tech support". Overall the system is good quality and I think it will meet my needs well.
