I got this as a gift for my father in-law. It looks great on the mantle. He was a tad disappointed that it wasn't functional but he understand the price difference! It is a nice novelty piece, bric-à-brac, knickknack, paper weight, conversation piece, ornament. don't expect to "gaze the stars" with it.
