I have been gathering costume pieces for things like going to the Renaissance Festival, running Dungeons & Dragons games, etc. I bought these pants hoping they would be a good base for my costumes, crossing my fingers that I wouldn't have the same issue I'd seen from other reviewers.Alas, I did have that same issue. The length and waist were fine, but from the knees down, these were TOO SMALL! They were too tight to comfortably get above the calf up to the knee, and even when wearing them low there was not enough fabric to cover my leg when the bottoms were tied up, revealing either my sock or bare leg. This was the case with both the black and brown pairs that I bought. Size-wise, these run small. I'm 6'0" and around 190 lbs and normally would buy a Medium or Large in sweatpants or joggers depending on the brand, but after trying both a Large and an XL and having a delivery delay for the XXL and just cancelling my order, I gave up on these to look for another brand that fit better. If you've got skinny legs, you may fare better, but still order *at least* one size up.I did end up wearing these pants (black) to the Renaissance Festival, experiencing their tight embrace on my lower legs all day (we decided to go and also get costumes fairly last minute, so I didn't have time to replace them). I wore black socks underneath to hide the exposed calf region underneath. My wife needed some pants too, so she wore the brown pair. The lower leg just *barely* fit for her, and still couldn't come over that calf. Both of these pairs are hers now. Would've returned them if we weren't stuck between the options of "tight pants" or "no pants," but oh well. We did like that they had pockets (strangely, despite the seller mentioning in the questions that they didn't have pockets).
