These landscape staples are good only when the dirt is soft and not thick. It was very hard to put them in when the ground is on the dry side. It was even harder to get them out when the ground is too hard. I'm not familiar with how the ground is supposed to be exactly, but my hand hurt from even trying. I'll just stick to putting rocks on top of the tarp.
