Overall the leash is well made of decent materials. The latch is a different story. It's flimsy and has occasionally just opened up and unhooked the leash from my dogs harness. I've been lucky that it didn't happen in traffic. I put a small piece of heat shrink tubing on the latch to add a little more insurance against accidental opening and as an indicator that the latch is moving toward the open position. I can only do this because I never take the leash off of the harness. If you're attaching to your dog's collar this won't work.
