This cardigan is definitely oversized. You could size down if you wanted to. However, with the length and style, it is really meant to be oversized. The pockets are large and make the sweater stick out a little at the hips. I don't love that as I am curvy with big hips already. It makes it feel a little more frumpy to me.With that being said, it all kind of works out well together. I think it is partially due to the length of the sweater. It is nice and long. It is also soft and comfortable. It is a little on the thinner side, which is what I like since I live in Florida. Overall, I like this sweater. It works well with jeans or with dresses. I just wish it was a little less "puffy" at the hip area. I would recommend it if this won't bother you.
