I grill corn on the cob all summer long. I had grill mitts made out of cloth, and they insulated well, but as I shucked the corn after grilling, as soon as the water from the corn seeped through the cloth, it would burn my hands. The impermeable rubber of these gloves is perfect for shucking grilled corn because no water can get through. I've also taken to using these gloves to flip logs in a campfire, and they're the only oven mitts we use in the house as well. They've drawn the notice of friends and family, and are definitely going to be a staple of the Christmas gifts we buy everyone this year. (Nothing says "you're old" like all your friends and family being happy to receive well-made oven mitts for Christmas.)
