Ordered these for my son who really likes these. He usually wears Timberland and Danner boots but isn't opposed to trying new boots. These appear to be as well-made as his Timberlands and are just as comfortable. The leather is beautiful, the dye is even, the footbed is supportive and cushioned, and the tread is thick. The ankle is padded for extra comfort and the laces stay tied (even though, if they didn't, I wouldn't take off a star). They are really nice looking boots and very very comfortable, he says. No insole needed for extra support or padding-- they are comfortable without. They fit well. He's an 11.5-12, we ordered a 12 and they fit perfectly. He's really happy with them and recommends them.
