I bought this torque wrench specifically for bike repairs and maintenance. It looks and feels well-made and comes with a decent storage case, an extension and adapter. The scales are high contrast and easy to read. However, before using it for any work I decided to test its accuracy first since there seem to be quite a few people complaining about poor accuracy. While I don’t have a calibrated hand to "feel” how accurate or not this torque wrench is, I was fortunate enough to have access and use a calibrated digital torque tester. Taking the average reading of three measurements each at 20, 35, 50, 80, 95, 110, 155 and 200 in-lbs., the resulting accuracy throughout stayed within or better than the +/-4% specification. Even the micrometer scale is accurate. A single increment (+/- 1 in-lbs.) adjustment from the micrometer scale will adjust by +/- 1 in-lbs. only as verified by the torque tester. Very impressive! Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones who got the best one out of the batch?If there is something to gripe about is not with the tool itself, but with the confusing instruction leaflet. There's part that says turn the lock "counterclockwise” to unlock – (Correct). Then below it the instruction says turn the knurled handle "counterclockwise” to "increase” setting – (Incorrect). If you turn the handle counterclockwise as you would to loosen the lock, the torque setting will "decrease”. Unless the instruction meant it as turn the handle counterclockwise (looking down from the drive head’s perspective), it should be "clockwise” to "increase” settings. This is not a big deal for experience users but can be confusing for beginners.Other than that, the sheer accuracy of this torque wrench alone is worth the five-star rating. Anyone looking for an accurate and budget-friendly 1/4" torque wrench for bike maintenance and repairs, you won’t go wrong with this EPAuto 1/4” torque wrench.
