Much brighter and efficient.
Installed 2 of them so far in my truck. Much brighter and no heat. Problem with standard bulbs is the heat and energy use. My main reason for switching these out is because my three year old kept turning the map lights on and the next day I have a dead battery. These new LEDs are much brighter, so you notice them being on much easier than the original, plus they use a lot less power, giving you the chance that your vihicle may still start in the morning even if they burn all night.
