Maybe go smaller best in my review
I have clay soil so its heavy and solid and its tough to drill. It was moist so not as hard as it would have been dry. It was tough on wrists and fingers when it catches and jerks drill in wrists, I would use a smaller auger due to injury from that to my hand. I did about 20 holes and the auger snapped off. It broke off jus past the drill chuck. I am not sure if auger could have lasted longer now that I have witnessed how these work.
