I needed something to help keep the air in the room clean, so I purchased it. Even if you open a window when it is operating in automatic mode, it will continue to function at a minimum level. I lighted a cigarette next to the gadget for the purpose of the trial, and it started to work after some initial resistance. It quickly absorbs scents, but its effectiveness against dust is unknown. The application displays the current temperature, humidity, and air quality (although the readings may be inaccurate). I will investigate this more.
