Our daughter got married outside on a hot, sunny day in Denver. There was shade for her and the groom but none for the guests. I bought 10 of these umbrellas and nine were used for people and one to keep camera equipment cool. These are infinitely better than regular umbrellas which almost seem to magnify the heat. As soon as you get under one of these you feel immediate relief from the heat and brightness. I just bought another for our own use. I can understand why long distance hikers use these for sun protection.
