I wanted something to help hold in the "pooch" when sitting down. I found the waist trainer somewhat easy to get into but I had to lie down to get it started. I have the 3XL size which was too small for my measurements according to their size chart but it did fit. Once I got it hooked up I was surprised how comfortable it was and I felt really good in it. I did housework, and even worked out on the pilates reformer. The only thing I couldn't do were deep ab curls in pilates because the top of the waist trainer bit into my ribs then. Otherwise it was great. I look forward to wearing it and tightening it up as I lose weight. Very nice garment. I wore mine over a lightweight tank top. I don't think I'd want to wear it right next to my skin. And yes, it did hold my stomach in as well as making me more conscious to do so myself. It also helped with my lower back. I was pleasantly surprised!
