We got this for an overseas trip and it worked great. We used it to charge our iPhones, iPad, Apple Watch and for an electric shaver. You can connect your phone charging cable directly to the charging port, or you can plug in your adapter! The former allows charging several devices at the same time. Just make sure the devices you use will accept the voltage of the country you are visiting (220V in our case). US voltage is 110V and if the device only accepts 110V and you plug it into 220v, it will get fried!
