The case is very nice looking. It almost looks like glass, or a very good acrylic. The side I think is TPU, but pretty firm. The back is more solid. It's been over a month, I normally take good care, so I don't know about scratches, but it's holding up very well. It's very clear. All the holes and buttons line up well. There is a high enough top/bottom lip so the screen doesn't touch the surface when placed face down. Could be a wee bit higher to give a more confidence. It keeps the Note 9 looking elegant, modern, new. It doesn't detract anything. Not bulky in any way. Camera is lower than the case, so nicely protected. Case fits nice and snug around the phone, with just a wee bit work to get it back out.Protection, the top/bottom lip helps. The sides are a little lower than the screen, so not much protection there, but doesn't interfere with side swiping. Buttons are well placed, but do require a little more pressure than without the case. The sides aren't as grippy as I wished. It does provide more than the phone itself. But perhaps a little texture could provide more confidence raising grip. although understandably, may take away from the crystalline look of the case. But fyi, not as grippy on the side as others out there. Sure, dust will get in the back and can see everything, but any normal person should realize that, it's a tradeoff. Can always insert pictures of grandkids, like my parents did.Overall, a happy customer, as it protects well for a minimalist case, that almost looks like the Note 9 is encased by lead crystal.
