The corset seemed like it was good quality, but it was painfully small. I'm not corset wearer in general (this was for a costume), but even untied, I couldn't breathe and it was painful to wear. I got the XX-Large. I'm 5'5 140lbs and usually wear a size 6-8. I'm sort of straight through the middle and not super curvy, so maybe that factored in. I didn't have time to reorder before I needed it, but if I had, I think I would have gone up a size or maybe even 2. It was beautiful though and was well constructed. I can tell that the right size would have looked great. Also keep in mind that I'm writing a a non corset wearer. I saw another review that said it didn't cinch enough (!). She's made of tougher stuff than I am, but if you're looking for a super super tight fit or are used to corsets, maybe this is sized accurately. Otherwise, do your ribs and organs a favor and size up
