It only blows air about 8 inches, as well as one of those cheap foam fans but in a narrow stream. It's got a thin sponge thing that you get wet that's supposed to cool the air, but it's so tiny and has a bunch of holes in it so it doesn't really do much. I tried freezing it slightly to see if that would do anything, and it kind of did, but it also caused the sponge to break into pieces. So, not worth it. But that was in almost 100° heat. Inside (about 70°), with the wet sponge, it felt pretty good.
