I did not buy this hat for myself nor have I ever owned a Boonie hat. My husband, however, had owned many. So I bought one for my him, because he was in dire need of a new one, and one for my 7 year old son who had to have one because dad got one. The adjustable bungee makes it so that these hats fit both of their heads. My husband can wear it without tightening but usually snugs it down so it doesn't blow off when he's mowing. That, he says, is his favorite feature. On the hottest days he will get the hat and neck flap wet with the hose and continue about his work. He says this, along with the mesh around the hat, help keep him cool. Material is very lightweight and breathable. The husband says it's his new favorite.
