According to my experience, this product really smooths out the opening and closing of my tailgate .The install was EASY and straightforward. The benefit of not needing to lower the tailgate slowly is awesome. The only con is that it does require a bit of adjustment to get the tension just right. Overall, I highly recommend this tailgate support..
