PROS:Very good protection from sun. I spend most of my days working in the sun, so I appreciate not having to apply and re-apply sunscreen to my arms. Allows me to wear a lightweight tank top while still protecting my arms. Of course, I still need sunscreen for my face and shoulders, but I go through far fewer tubes of sunscreen.Thumbhole keeps sleeves in place.Although I wash them at least once a week (hot water, regular wash load), the SPF doesn't seem to be reduced after several years.CONS:Although they are great when the weather is cold or mild, I can't wear them when it's very hot outside (over 85 degrees F) because, like any long-sleeved shirt, they hold in heat.WHAT WOULD BE IDEAL FOR ME:Add an option with insect-repellent like that used in ExOfficio BugsAway bandana
