Advent calendars are my thing. I have reviewed a great many of them. The categories below are based on issues I've discovered in the past.This is an advent calendar made in China. Each surprise is a sturdy well-made finger puppet.THE BOX: Medium size square box with basic stock Christmas images. China's idea of what Christmas looks like.DOES THE BOX FLIP OPEN: No.DOES THE BOX FLIP OPEN THE CORRECT WAY: N/A.DID THE TOYS STAY IN THEIR COMPARTMENTS: Yes. Given the nature of the insert, it is extremely unlikely you will have any issues. The walls of the compartments are high and sturdy.I always open up advent calendars. Always always always. Too often, one of the toys is no longer in its designated compartment. I open the advent calendars to avoid disappointment. I recommend you do the same.NUMBERED CORRECTLY: Yes. 1-24 in order straight across the rows.QUALITY OF TOYS: Surprisingly good! Every finger puppet is about as tall as my ring finger. I was very pleasantly surprised.PLAYABILITY: Very high.NOTE: This advent calendar is a box within a box. I had to remove the outer box to get to the actual advent calendar and its doors. It took me a really long time to pry the one box out of the other. I don't know if they were just nested that snuggly or glued in there, but it was comically challenging. I also damaged one of the doors in the process. I recommend you just use a scissor to cut away the outer box.BOTTOM LINE: 5 stars because of the quality of the toys.
