I have just received the jacket and haven't worn it so these are my first impressions. Some people don't care for synthetic fabric feel, but I've been wearing sun protection clothing for awhile and they're mostly synthetic so I've gotten used to the fabric. When I travel it also means my clothes can be washed out in the tub or sink and dries quickly hanging n the shower and the thin fabric means they don't take up much room in my bag. I was looking for something with a hood that wasn't a hoodie. I have wide shoulders and it's difficult for me to get those things on or off. I wanted something with a hood I could put on and off my head when driving or walking and this fit the bill. The sleeves are long which means they come part way to cover my hands. I only wish they were actually a bit longer with thumb holes but you can't have everything. Maybe I will add a lightweight loop of some kind to the sleeve. It fits me well and has some shaping so you don't look boxy. Stitching on the one I received was great. The fabric doesn't have stretch lengthwise, but does side to side so it's comfortable for movement and wearing. Neck seam has lightweight slightly stretch white tape over it to protect the seam and prevent it from stretching out. Seams in the hood are nicely done, not just bare serged seams but turned. The hood edges are also not just turned under but is sewn with a separate shaped piece so it looks neat. I took a couple pics with my phone of the hoodie area. Now I want the white as well. I live in Hawaii and love the Southwest so lightweight and packable is the ticket for me.
