I bought these bc I needed one or two to fix a Murphy desk with a weak closure. But jeez- one did the trick there and I had ordered extra for crafts and random things but I can't imagine what you might use these for in everyday life. They are waaaaay too powerful for most regular applications. I was holding one within 6 inches maybe of the stack and it jumped out of my hand and onto the stack with such force that it shattered. The little plastic pieces are supposed to protect them from each other and make them easier to get apart but in our experience the plastic pieces jump out once you pry off a layer of magnet and then the stack magnets back together and then are nearly impossible to get apart. Bonus for offering somewhat terrifying entertainment for a few minutes.
