Purchased this for my stock Element Enduro Sendero trail truck. Connects directly to the balance wire of the battery. Because this wire is typically unused during truck operation, it can be hooked up so you can monitor the battery life while it runs! While this may differ on other trucks, I was able to use the battery tray velcro strap to hold the balance wire in place putting the battery monitor sitting directly on top of the battery while the truck is in operation. The strap kept the meter from flopping around. I could also view the meter through the stock body's windshield perfectly.One thing to note, the "low voltage" meter checks the individual cells, not the full battery. So if set to "3.6v" it will beep when one or more cells reaches 3.6v, not the total battery. The alarm is set by pushing the button on the top until the desired voltage is reached. There is also a setting to turn the alarm OFF, which is great. When I first operated I left it at the default setting and it started going off and I had to scramble to pull the body off and change the setting as it was LOUD and would not stop beeping until I either changed it or unplugged it.
