I needed to be able to hang coats and jackets for three people and six backpacks with textbooks and laptops in them. These racks looked like they had sturdy hooks and a solid wood base in the picture, and they did.While the screw mounts are 16" apart on this rack, three racks across did not line up where my studs were in the wall. So I installed a 1x6 piece of lumber into the wall studs with wood screws and painted it the wall color. Then I installed three of these units onto the 1x6 with wood screws that fit the mounts. Anchoring these racks into the studs was required to hang six full backpacks anyway, the 1x6 just made it easier to place them where I wanted.This came with with drywall anchors, and that is probably fine for just coats. But even anchored to the studs as I have, it takes a really sturdy rack to hold six full backpacks, and this has held up for three months now of continuous use. Highly recommend!
