Like most older northeast apartment homes, the framing of the entry door wasn't precise. After noticing a slight draft and sliver of light from under the front door, I purchased the Fowong Heavy Door Draft Stopper (38", white). The front facing fabric is beautiful! I'm not 100% certain, but the fabric appears to be a low-nap, lightweight velvet. The back side is a soft texture; plain yet weighted (feels granular- like a thin bean bag). The edge piping (all sides) appears to be satin. The solid braid loops (either end) feel like cotton. It's not a tight plait, but is sturdy enough to hold the stopper.This draft stopper is luxurious compared to other stoppers I've seen. If you appreciate function and aesthetics, yet aren't able to replace your drafty door, this solution might work for you. The stopper also came with a small roll of hook tape, which presumably grips the soft fabric on the backside, and 4 silver thumb tacks to secure the tape. Since the drafty door is metal and I typically use an alternate door instead, it didn't make sense to attach the stopper to the door. If I need to open the drafty door, I can easily move the stopper aside and put it back in place. I haven't noticed any noise cancellation, but that typically requires updates to building features I have no control over: adding storm doors and windows, sound-proofing between apartment units, insulation, etc.
