The new Goodyear Eagle Sport 2, aimed at the mid-to-high-end passenger car segment, is an evolution of the first generation Goodyear model from which it features increased mileage, improved handling and improved fuel efficiency. In turn, the reduction in fuel consumption is associated with the new composition of the tread rubber compound and the carcass design. During in-factory testing, the Goodyear Eagle Sport 2 confirmed the improvements made. In terms of handling on wet roads, it outperformed its predecessor by 7 percent, and on dry roads by 4 percent. In addition, braking distance measurements showed that the new tire was 7 percent shorter in the wet and 2 percent shorter in the dry. Wear Guage visual wear indicator technology allows the consumer to easily monitor tire wear levels. The measurement scale is presented at four levels and is present in four places on the outer groove of the tire. At the same time, the indicator shows how many times the current tread depth exceeds the minimum safe depth of 1.6 mm.
