We had a similar set from another brand for 5 years and loved it. Unfortunately, they fell victim to rough kids. We bought this set as a replacement but we find this inferior to the previous set we had. I really like this mat. It is heavy duty, & looks great in my entry. But when I opened the packaging, the rubber smell (like new car tires) was overwhelming. I kept it outside for 3 days to air it out. On 2nd day, I hosed it down & washed it with Simply Green & let it dry. On 3rd day, the odor was reduced, but still strong. I mixed 2 cups of vinegar in a bucket of water & added a couple of squirts of dish detergent.
