In addition to being very thin they will do a better job in an area of the country where the sun is less intense. Arizona, New Mexico, Texas sun is too much for the covers to last. I love this purse! However, I am giving it four stars because in the picture, the charms are orange, light pink and teal which I LOVED and was very much looking forward to. When I received the purse, the tassels are orange (great!), HOT pink and PURPLE (not so great). Please advertise better about what colors are going to be on the tassels.
