Heats super quickly, I'd say in about 20-30 mins. Helps a lot for dry skin on my hands, which is what I bought it for. I put in all the wax it came with and it's just enough to cover most of my hand. Bought some extra wax to add in. Only thing is that it doesn't have an auto off! Love this rug.the colors are beautiful! I ordered this to use on my outdoor patio. Because previous posters said the colors smeared, I sprayed it with Outdoor Scotchgard. It's been rained on and no colors have smeared. I will repeat the treatment every summer.
