I needed 2 monitors for homework. They were both HDMI but the graphics card in my PC only had one HDMI slot and 3 of the Display Port slots. So this cable fit great on the HDMI monitor and just right on the Display Port slot on the PC graphics card. And the card recognized both and automatically set them up to both monitors.
