I've had half of the original order I made fail in full bright white mode after 2 years- and they no longer respond to the remote. They must have been older versions, as the second order I placed are physically different from the first set. That being said, I hope these revised lights don't have this problem anymore. very helpful, the only drawback is voice activation, if yourMom is 81 on 6th round of chemo it may be hard to project ones voice. We tried w sensitivity set at 2, not good although i did fine w it. however she can easily activate the ring button to alert my Father when he is downstairs in the kitchen. She had a difficult time pushing the communication button in her weakened state but can do it, it just exhausts her trying though. Bought it mainly because of external antenna, for better FM reception. Did get that but… the display is way too bright, even at the lowest of the three brightness settings. And the fatal flaw is the programming interface, which is buggy and defective. No way to set stations manually, and programmed alarms fail to use the radio station you chose for them. My analysis of this product showed that it's not worth the money... The flashlight is not very bright and the headphones have low sound quality. The only positive point is that it's lightweight.
