The packaging was a bit roughed up, however no harm was done to the book ends. They have worked great for both hard back and soft back books. The pictures of the dogs came out so cute with the little paw prints and bones next to them. These were Christmas gifts that I gave to my nephew and brother in law. They are adorable. I did get the largest size for men as both were a size 12 and they are tight. But they loved them anyway. Easy to install, very sturdy. Only issue is that the little ball locks are REALLY stiff which probably means it will work for years but I often use on hand on the broom handle and the other to assist in lifting the lock ball to get the handle in.
