We'd been using 2 tea towels to "bib" my 93 year old MIL when she eats. They never stayed in place and had to be washed frequently. These stay in place with the Velcro tabs at the neck, they're plenty long enough to cover her lap (even if you decide to turn up the bottom and snap it in place for a crumb catcher) and the soft plastic top layer just wipes clean. I bought this set in dark gray and black. (Black pictured) and overall, I like it. However, if you carry much weight in your hips/thighs I would recommend sizing up as it is pretty fitted through that area. Find underwear without panty lines to wear with it. Also, if you buy any of the lighter colors I would definitely size up. I wish you could buy separate sizes for bottoms and top.
