The measurement of 11.1" is not from the center of the square as in the picture, its from the start of the piece all the way through. I thought its longer than 11.1" overall. My rack is wide enough so the grip is much wider than I anticipated.Update: Customer service have been really nice and agreed for a refund. Hats can be touch and go. I usually buy when i can try on. I took a chance here and i failed. I tried it on with a bandana to cover my hair and the hat was too big. it was a medium.i looked like a park ranger. Had to return it. It looks nice and the material was nice.
