There is a horrible latex/rubber smell. It's pretty strong. I let the boots sit out for 2 weeks and my son (9 yr old) still complained of the smell. He wears it outdoors when working on landclearing with my husband. The rubber isn't clean. It looks like it got rubbed against something, the black is greyish.looks like it is peeling but it isn't. I wasn't expecting the finest in blazers, it's a third party vendor through revain for cheap. Fine by me I tend to have bad luck with designer clothes so I was okay with all that. We used these at my daughter's wedding reception to supplement the "light swords" we used for the "light saber salute" as they departed. We brought them out a little early and people brought them to the dance floor. They were quite a hit! The hooks were a nice feature allowing people to hang them from their ears and other places for some funny pictures.
