I bought this boom stand because I need portability. I do interior photography, portrait/fashion and food photography. I wanted a decent boom that was portable. I'm a big guy, 6' and almost 300lbs, and I felt very comfortable in this sleeping bag It's not too big that I felt I was losing body heat, and it wasn't so small that I felt wrapped in a cocoon without the positive effects of turning into a slim and trim butterfly.I do think the photos are a little misleading on the size. Got this in the mail, everything was intact, even the box! Assembly wasn't too bad, I'm not great when it comes to putting things together, so it was a task! Took me about an hour and a half total. The instructions are pretty much all pictures which was great for me because I'm a visual person. The concept of using one piece to do all the work is great but I don't think the thinner ones have much of a chance. Certainly didn't in the aluminum extrusion I was working with.
