I nearly bought a plastic version of this because it was made by a brand I know. I decided that while this is not a brand I know, I'd take a chance on it because it's solid brass. I think the way items are packaged often tells you something about the manufacturer's care or lack thereof and this was packed simply but with extra gaskets, in their own small ziplock style bags, which to me says that this comes from someone who pays attention to details and that, to me, is a huge deal. But the proof is in the pudding and in this case, I guess that means "pudding" this device onto a faucet and turning the water on. I expected a small leak, like water trickling out a bit but, no, not a drop! Now, since this came with 3 gaskets, one already installed and two extra, I decided to use one of the extras for the hose end, so that there was a new gasket/ washer/ o-ring whatever it is properly called, I had a new one where this quick-connect attached to the faucet and one where it attached to the hose. And . no leak! Not even a drop. And it connects so easily that it's almost too easy - I've used various versions of this for decades and I am used to fiddling with the "quick" connect to get a good seal - but this connected so easily that I kept trying, thinking it was not fully seated but no, it's just well-made. Now, hopefully, being solid brass, it will also outlive me.
