The fabric is 90 percent nylon and 10 percent spandex.I selected the medium size because I wear and 8 1/2 woman’s size shoe and since that is the end of the small range was concerned it would be too small. Admittedly the foot portion is a little long but the rest fits perfectly although the compression feels mild. Do check the size chart and take the time to measure ankle and calf for a good fit. Fabric care is hand wash in lukewarm water using a mild detergent. Do not twist fabric, rinse well in cool water then blot to remove most moisture and dry flat. The thickness is substantial and they are quite comfortable.
