Easy to assemble, the parts were pretty sturdy. The piece is nice, heavy but not too heavy. The "wood" piece is really wood-looking tape, but it wasn't scratched so it looks nice from afar. I have my big toaster/convection oven on that and some smaller, lightweight stuff on the other shelves. The "wood" shelf is a little lower than I would like as my toddler can reach the knobs on the toaster oven, but I'm happy with it, and got it for a great price.
