this is your basic thermometer but i did like the iconic displays as a differentiator. unlike others i had fairly consistent readouts of temperature. the tips is soft and pliable but not "floppy." the ability to wash it with fear of shorting out the battery is nice and is a expected in most modern devices like this, but not always provided. that was also a plus. the large temperature readout text on the results screen was also appreciated. also, something that i was not expecting was that the colors of the item made it easy to find in the drawer. i did not appreciate this as a "feature" until i needed to find this at 1AM with the lights dimmed. All that said, there is not too much that makes this stand out others on the market, other than the icon display, which is hurt by the fact the the display is not backlight. Overall, thought, it is worth the money and was a good tool for the job.
