I bought this as a valet for the equipment I use when I'm sitting at the machine and actively sewing. I have my scissors and measuring tape in the pockets, where they are easily accessible. There is also a removable pocket for waste, which is very handy. Snipped threads go in here and eventually are emptied into a waste basket. I know there are patterns out there to make your own. But I'm too busy sewing to make one myself. And the price is reasonable. My only complaint is that it could be more colorful.
