The clear polycarbonate protects well from scratches and fortunately isn't very slick so I'm not too worried that it'll slip. Only time will tell if it yellows though. The lifting piston was partially extended preventing proper assembly. I had to rig-up the wiring to retract the piston before assembly could be completed. After about 2 or 3 weeks, I moved a TV into the bedroom and put the bed into a sitting position. It sat higher than I thought it would, almost chair - like. Great for TV viewing.
