I've worked with pure butyl as tapes and sealants and know what that looks, feels and smells like. Despite claims of consisting of butyl, Siless smells of roofing/street tar. While the majority of this product may be butyl, it is not 100%. I will avoid adding this to an interior compartment in concern for smell. I also wonder if this will creep under heat. The pros at best are that the cord is lightweight and easy to handle. However, the cons are numerous.
