Absolutely not sheer. Material is of good guality, a little heavier for the warm summer months but I still wear them. Very comfortable! I have 3 pair in 3 different colors. 2 I purchased in a large as I was finding other similar items to run small but these do not. Larges are a little big but not some much I can't wear them. Leg length on the large comes to my ankles. Most recent I purchased a medium and they are perfect. The length is a little long, slightly below mid calf. The sizing chart was a bit wonky, I had my husband measure me so I bought according to the measurements and it was too big, so I ended up returning it so that I could get another size because I could not wear it. This is an awesome product, the material is very soft and firm it has a perfect fit for the size, and a much better overall feel, like a blanket, but stretched. The color was a bit unusual, but it is actually cool, and you cannot see it through the sheet. I am considering getting the same kind of mattress protector for two more beds in my house, it is better than the ones I have now. Saved a lot of $$$ by replacing the control module on my Heat-n-Glo 6000BEC-IPI gas insert fireplace! Suddenly stopped lighting, and after some troubleshooting, I determined that the control module just wasn't "clicking".
